Cow Country

I love Northern California. Period. Growing up in Southern California has its perks and I am so blessed to be there. However, sometimes I get sick of the superficial lifestyle that I see amongst residents in Southern Cali. I'd definitely say that there is so much more to life than what kind of car you drive or how much money you can spend in one shopping spree. I love keeping things simple. That's why I get some sort of relief as soon as we drive out of the Grapevine. Wide open spaces. Farmlands. The warm honey yellow color of the grass. Blue skies that travel for miles. And cows. LOTS of them. I love the sense of freedom and not feeling claustrophobic within the big city limits. As we drive along the 5, I love listening to country music. I really don't care what people think of country music. I mean, have you ever tried to listen to it while imagining running through open fields of wildflowers or wild grass and then stopping to twirl in the open field with your hands raised towards the sky? Ok...so I have a weird imagination, but I love feeling that way so much! The freedom in that is just so amazing. I sometimes like to think that I am a country girl at heart.

Of course, the beach with the country wouldn't hurt one bit. I'd say, that that would be my idea of heaven on earth. I can't forget my roots of being a total beach bum. ;]

Conquering the 5...Freeway That Is!

Tomorrow (technically today...but who cares? Its 12 in the AM), I leave for Northern California. I know I technically don't start work till June 4th. But the fam bam and I decided to get this party started early. By 'party', I mean that my cousin is getting married to her junior high (holy molies) sweetheart this Saturday and I wouldn't wanna miss it for the world! I'm gonna be helping out with the wedding and I can't wait to see Bre as a lovely bride! After that, I stay with my lovely Grandma Darling and then its off to Yosemite with the crazy relatives! I am so excited to see my family...yay for Christian family reunions (haha). Hopefully, the bears won't steal our stuff like they did last year. I am glad I get to spend time with my family on vacation before I leave for the whole summer!

Then, June 4th is the BIG DAY! Time to meet a new family: my summer staff! Gotta love Christian family gatherings ;] (not by blood but by Spirit).

And Nothing's Gonna Hold Me Back...

1 John 3:18

"Little children, let us not love in word or talk but in deed and in truth."

I will look to this verse when I think to myself, "How can I show these kids Jesus when I feel like I don't have the right words to say?" I will love them by DOING the Word of God which is truth. There will be times when I need to use the words of my mouth, but I have faith that the Spirit will guide me to what to say. After all...He promised He would!

1 John 3:20

"...for whenever our heart condemns us, God is greater than our heart, and he knows everything."

There are things that still hold me back. A past sin...a fail...a struggle. God is greater than my mistakes. He is greater than my struggles. He is greater than my doubt. He is greater than all the pain I have ever felt in my entire life! The heart can be so deceiving. That's why we need to look to Jesus in our hardest times. To hold on to His Truth. This summer, I will remind myself of this verse whenever something gets tough. Whenever I am reminded of my past. Whenever I am reminded of my mistakes. My struggles. Whenever my heart says that I can't do anything right. Whenever the devil's lies creep down my neck saying I'm not good enough.

I was worth the blood of the Lamb. Jesus died for me. The Son of the Alpha and the Omega said I was good enough to die for. What do you have to say to that, Satan? Nothing, that's what.

This overwhelming Love. Agape. It makes the life in my veins sing with pure joy. I am free. I have freedom in Christ. With Him, I can do all things. Here I come, Mt. Hermon. By His Strength, I will carry on.

Ummm...

So, apparently....my last post disappeared?

This is very strange.

I don't know what to make of this.

I'm starting to wonder where it went.

Why does technology hate me?

What did I ever do to you, internet?

You suck.

Jay-kay...don't take away another post! :'[

UGHHHHHH!!!!

Ok....I vented...I'm done.

Anyways, to some up the last post (if it doesn't "magically" come back within 24 hours). I am super duper extremely excited for Mt. Hermon. My staff seem awesome....Life is good....and I move out of Loma today! OH YEAH!!!

I promise my next entry will have a point. This one, however, does not. Ok bye! :]

(p.s. it came back...I'm too lazy to erase this)

WoOoOohhh...4 weeks?!?!

So...I feel super lame cause my DC video did not work :'[ Apparently, my iMovie did not save the little video I have up here (I must have gone crazy with the delete button or something)...so now I have a funny short film of me talking to my computer with Praise in the background :P hahaha

With Mt. Hermon fast approaching, I can't help but be humbled. I mean...woah...the job that I've been praying for for over a year is around the corner. Honestly, it hasn't quite hit me yet (probably cause Finals is taking its toll on me)....Once I am packed and ready it will. I am happy that I have at least 2 weeks back at home before I go up to NorCal. I start my job June 4th, but my cuz is getting married on May 28th (YA WEDDINGS!!!) and then, after that, its a family vacation in Yosemite!! (Hopefully, there won't be any bears again this summer...)

I'm ready for God to use me. I am ready for God to mold me.

I am ready to witness what it truly means to have Faith Like A Child. To believe to believe. And to have the love of Christ flow out to all the kids I come into contact with. There's nothing that my heart wants more. I can't wait to see faith through a child's eyes...its been ages.
